Starring Gary Oldman
Total Lifetime Grosses

I like Gary Oldman, I think he is a very potent actor, but I can’t help feeling cheated by this film. I don’t know much about the real lives of Sid and Nancy but the actress playing Nancy just seemed exceedingly whiny with her crusty Brooklyn accent not helping any.
In particular the first few shots are just of Sid Vicious sitting in a darkened room in a state of shock, creates a feeling of exceeding claustrophobia.
It’s a depressing biography. The only really inspired scene for me was the recreation of Sid’s solo performance where he takes to the audience with an UZI filled with blood pellets. The ending however was anti-climactic. Nancy drives up to the destitute Sid Vicious and drives away with him to heaven.
A melodramatic attempt at symbolically showing Sid’s death by an overdose.
